Job Title: Admissions Support Specialist |
GENERAL SUMMARY: This position is responsible for maintaining the student database by entering, verifying, and correcting Prison Education Program (PEP) application and new student data, and managing PEP third-party transcript request services. This position is located on the Fayette Campus.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Accurately process PEP applications and create student files. 30%
- Accurately manage PEP third party transcript request services. 30%
- Accurately view and index images (virtual imaging system). 10%
- Accurately update/modify data in student record system. 10%
- Contact appropriate staff with reminders and updates. 10%
- Accomplish department and organization mission by completing related tasks as needed. 10%
- Other duties, as assigned.
MANAGERIAL/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides work direction for: The College of Graduate and Extended Studies Admissions Office.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS: HS Diploma or GED. Associate’s degree in business preferred. Will consider 2+ years of work experience in an office setting that requires accurate data-entry.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Candidates should be able to work a standard 40-hour week on campus. Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time in front of a computer. Lift 25 lbs., when necessary.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Candidate must possess the following: A strong and proven work ethic, be a quick learner, excellent written and verbal communication skills, exceptional attention to detail with proven history of little to no errors in data entry, must be willing to provide excellent customer service at all times. Experience with data entry, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), email, scanners, and mail merge a must.
